The house

Built in 1868 as a bath house for bathers off the Sussex sea.

It spent its first century cleaning up the tired and salty, lost its original purpose around the time indoor plumbing got reasonable, and drifted into the dusty afterlife that Grade II listed buildings tend to find themselves in.

In 2015 it was taken on by a family who did the big thing: installed a full-length ten-pin bowling lane inside the great room, built a private cinema room, and sat a fourteen-seat feasting table down the middle.

It changed hands again in 2025. The story kept going.
